Empowering European Businesses:
Introducing the B2B Cooperation Programme with Japan and the Republic of Korea
We are thrilled to introduce the latest EU
initiative aimed at bolstering European businesses' presence in the vibrant
markets of Japan and the Republic of Korea. The Business to Business (B2B)
Cooperation Programme, funded by the EU, is poised to facilitate an increase
and diversification of exports and investments while fostering resilient,
green, and digital value chains.
Building on Success: Evolution
from EU Gateway and Business Avenues
This groundbreaking programme builds upon the
success of its predecessors, the EU Gateway and Business Avenues programmes,
which have long served as pillars of fostering robust business partnerships
between European and Asian companies.
Key Objectives and Duration
Over the course of 48 months, spanning from
4th December 2023 to 3rd December 2027, the B2B Cooperation Programme will
organize 20 business missions and matchmaking events (10 in Japan and 10 in the
Republic of Korea). Each mission will host 50 EU companies and startups
operating in sectors such as Green & Sustainable Technologies, Digital
Solutions, and Healthcare & Medical Equipment.
Unlocking Opportunities for
European Companies
- Market
Access: Breaking into the Japanese and Korean markets can be daunting for European
SMEs. The programme aims to facilitate market access by providing
logistical support for the mission, including interpretation services,
booth installation, and business mission catalogue creation.
- Promotion of
European Products and Services: Through targeted promotional activities and inviting
visitors from Korean and Japanese companies, the programme will help
showcase European products and services.
- Networking
and Partnerships: Facilitating networking opportunities, the programme will enable European
companies to connect with potential partners, distributors, and clients in
Japan and Korea.
- Guidance and
Support: From navigating regulatory requirements to understanding Japanese business
culture, the programme will offer tailored assistance throughout the
market entry process.
- Cost-Effective
Approach: By covering accommodation costs and offering shared resources, the
programme provides a cost-effective means for European companies to
explore Japanese and Korean markets.
Eligibility Criteria
To participate, companies must meet specific
criteria, including being EU-owned, having a solid business strategy for
entering the Japanese and Korean markets, and demonstrating a track record of
international business cooperation.
