Healthcare innovation

When the moment came for Artjola to turn to her future and make life-changing decisions she looked back on her experiences and the things she had done and never got tired of doing. Her passion for medical research and healthcare innovation has been strong since she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

Artjola has always felt inspired by the latest medical technologies and advancements in digital health. She questioned about how she could share her clinical knowledge and respond to healthcare needs at the pace of innovation. Thus, the idea of PT Connect was born. PT Connect is a wearable medical device that allows patients to routinely monitor blood clotting function and share the medical data with hospitals and clinics via the mobile app for quick medical assessment by healthcare professionals.

The idea could not have come at a better time, as she soon discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme while attending entrepreneurship events in Albania. Through EYE, she had the opportunity to learn and work on developing her product prototype for 6 months while receiving feedback from her mentor Leo Martinez in Munich. She is very grateful to him and his team for their continuous support in sharing their experiences, mistakes, and successes with her. This allowed her to reflect on the learning environment and develop essential knowledge on experimentation, financing and marketing her medical service in the national and international market. She went from a business plan to building a high-fidelity prototype of PT Connect and is currently working with a research lab at the University of Debrecen to test her prototype and develop a real product for the digital health market very soon.
