New entrepreneur:
Marta Čorić (Croatia)

Company name: (Start-up)
Sector of activity: Health, beauty and social services

My Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs was absolutely amazing. I got to know what it is takes to run a company, create new ventures, develop a business plan but most of all, I learned what makes a great leader and how to make a positive impact on society.

Host entrepreneur:
Luis Huete (Spain)

Company name: EQUIPO 56 HUETE&CO / luishuete.com (35 years of experience)
Sector of activity: Education and training services

The experience with Marta during these months has been amazing. She is an incredible professional with great ambition, attitude, generosity and kindness. I learned about the programme a few years ago, and I thought it to be a fantastic opportunity to help young entrepreneurs.

Period of exchange: 11/2019 until 04/2020
Duration of exchange: 5 months

Marta Čorić from Croatia, obtained her PhD in medical sciences in 2019 and during this period she was a researcher in academia.

Marta always wanted to work for a business that shares the same values as hers, materializing in useful products or services for people in their daily life.

She wanted to transition to industry or start her own business but was unsure on how to do it. That was until a friend of hers recommended Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs as a stepping stone to the entrepreneurial world.

So Marta registered in the programme in the hope to get first-hand insights in running a company involving all the key aspects as well as best practices.

She then flew to Spain in November 2019, where she stayed for five months working with Luis Huete, a business owner and writer. During the exchange, Luis taught her the main aspects of running a business starting with the analysis of his client's profiles and sharing his experience on how to monitor low performance and find ways for improvements.

Together, they also launched a new venture, an institute for corporate governance. To launch this project, they first needed to look for clients which they did through meetings and information sessions about the services the institute would offer. They also organised a huge promotional campaign, which involved the creation of a monthly newsletter, contacting the popular business and economics newspaper in Spain (i.e. Expansión).

Thanks to these activities, Marta gained experience in market research and business development. Marta was very satisfied with her exchange as she learnt a great deal about running and growing a company. More specifically, shelearned about the legal aspects of running a company, improved her business plan and her Spanish.

She developed digital marketing skills and readjusted her business plan. She also made new professional contacts that would be useful for her future career. She also learned about client relations management and gained significant knowledge on what today’s clients need and how to respond to that need.
