New entrepreneur:
Menno van Dam (Netherlands)
Age: 28
Company name: van Dam / www.appruption.org (Start-up)
Sector of activity: IT, office and communication equipment, services and supplies

I'm happy to have taken part in the EYE program. I've learned a lot and it has provided me with a lot of new opportunities. The value of the network I built in Portugal is huge and I will be able to benefit from this for a long time. I could not have done this without the support of the HE.

Host entrepreneur:
Pedro Oliveira (Portugal)
Age: 34
Company name: Landing.jobs / https://landing.jobs/ (5 years of experience)
Sector of activity: IT, office and communication equipment, services and supplies

Menno is one of the kindest and empathy-enhancing business people I've ever met; able to deliver and meet his customers' goals. His work helped us take the first steps in the Dutch market and close several valuable deals. Overall the EYE program was a huge success as both parties benefited equally!

Period of exchange: 01/2019 until 03/2019

Menno van Dam is a new entrepreneur from the Netherlands whose current activities revolve around entrepreneurship innovation tech and startups. He already started his business and - by facilitating new value creation - Menno is bringing international tech talent to the Netherlands by launching landing.jobs the host entrepreneur's business to tap into a new market in the Netherlands. He helps Portuguese startups/Scale-ups/SME’s/ with their international strategy by connecting them to the expertise they need.

Host entrepreneur Pedro Oliveira from Portugal runs a new business concept for the tech recruitment market and offers new entrepreneurs the opportunity not only to learn from him and what takes to build an international marketplace but also to be a great asset helping the growth of Pedro's company.

The entrepreneurs worked together to check the feasibility of the new entrepreneur international strategy service and the possibility for him to expand his business in Portugal. The NE and the HE worked together to explore the opportunities for the NE’s business to be expanded in the Netherlands. The work activities consisted of two parts. The first part was to explore if there was a need for a tailored international strategy service in Portugal. This was the NE’s project and the work activities to achieve this validation were diverse. After some fine-tuning of the NE’s plan and strategy, the HE introduced the NE to entrepreneurs from his network in need of international strategy support. The NE contacted them started a LinkedIn campaign and attended events related to startups. The second part of the activities was supporting landing.jobs in their launch of the Dutch market. The NE supported the HE with research for landing festival and did campaigns to get new clients for the HE.

The benefits achieved by the HE: research slides on if, how, where, when, whom to bring the landing festival to the Netherlands meetings with potential clients new clients from the Netherlands subsc ription renewals from big clients in the Netherlands strategic partnership with a Dutch accelerator in the Netherlands.

The benefits achieved by the NE: meetings with entrepreneurs and influencers in the startup ecosystem of Portugal startups proposals as venture partner to expand to the Netherlands a deal closed with a paying Portuguese client and a working business model. The NE did not give up on the international strategy coaching from experienced entrepreneurs to Portuguese startups and he is talking to the government of Portugal about what he has learned.
