The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme brought together Anastasija Borisova a motivated 26-year-old aspiring entrepreneur from Latvia and Erbil Kilic an experienced 34-year-old entrepreneur from the Netherlands. Anastasija with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration sought practical experience to transition from dreaming about her own business to taking actionable steps. She discovered EYE through a friend’s educational blog and saw it as the perfect opportunity to learn from an experienced mentor. Erbil managing several small businesses including Klaas en Daams valued the programme as a chance to share his knowledge while receiving help with daily business operations. Both participants aimed to expand their skillsets and foster international business growth.

During the four-month exchange Anastasija actively supported Erbils business handling store operations managing customer interactions and processing orders. Her tasks also included working with legal documents and government regulations providing her with hands-on exposure to the intricacies of running a small business. Erbil in turn guided Anastasija in understanding business fundamentals particularly in the textile and e-commerce industries. Together they initiated the development of a new online store with Anastasija assisting in creating product lists and marketing strategies. The collaboration was marked by mutual respect and learning with Anastasija appreciating the realities of entrepreneurship and Erbil benefiting from her dedication and fresh perspectives.

This exchange fostered numerous benefits for both parties. Anastasija gained invaluable insights into managing a business enhanced her organizational and communication skills and laid the groundwork for her future enterprise Asiyas Store. Erbil benefited from improved operational efficiency and support for expanding his online presence. Importantly the duo established a lasting professional connection paving the way for continued collaboration on the new web shop.
