I didn’t know much about how to communicate in nonviolent way neither start my own business but Marta‘s experience helped me to embrace both and learn much. We dived into the subject of psychology which is inevitably a part of nonviolent communication and addresses the core needs of each human.

Karla had much enthusiasm to learn about nonviolent communication and psychology. She has an interesting point of views. She brought in an intelligent way on how to approach people from various background and teach them how to apply nonviolent communication in their own lives.

Karla wish to start her own company NEXUM focusing on training in nonviolent communication for both individuals and companies. She decided to gain experience aborad from successful entrepreneur in the field of education and wanted to find a host who would support her in improving her business idea. She expected to get practical experience with running a business and be able to test her ideas.rnMarta is an experienced entrepreneur her company Asociación Nanda Gram was established in 2003 and it focuses on education solidarity and training as means to improve social dynamics. She has experience with other European programmes such as EVS and CES and thus sharing her experience and helping entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journy is natural to her.

Their collaboration focused on education in nonviolent communication. Karla was trained how to conduct workshops seminars and courses in Marta’s company. They were working in cooperation with other national organizations and institutions which helped Karla to enhance her network of contacts. Together they managed and impemented projects related to other European organizations and interacted with people who has some disadvantage in their life – migrants refugees people with physical disabilities ethnic minorities and so on. Karla was also herself leading a small group of people which was partiularly diverse and contradictive in their approach and way of thinking. Her task was to unite the group by using nonviolent communication techniques in the most beneficial way. Karla helped Marta’s business with options and possibiities of marketing and how to successfully implement them.

The participation in the programme helped Karla to increase her business skills but also evolve her social capital while working with the mentioned target groups. During Karla’s stay she gained vital experience through preparation of many events such as workshops or seminars. While working with Marta Karla was able to improve her own business plan and consult the aspects with experienced entrepreneur. Marta also helped her to test them in practice. Marta further gained new perspective for her business and contacts in the Czech Republic which might help her business to be more internationalised.
