Business sector of the exchange

Jewelery

MERCe is a Tel Aviv-based conceptual jewellery brand by Mercedes Gazzano, an industrial designer who has registered as a host entrepreneur in the EYE programme. MERCe playfully combines industrial forms with organic textures using artisanal techniques. The result is a harmonious balance of opposing forces and energies. Mercedes' work is bold and eye-catching, but also very comfortable to wear and easy to integrate into everyday fashion. MERCe works in harmony with the Slow Fashion movement and offers an environmentally friendly product. At the same time, it sources high-quality materials and creates timeless pieces. New entrepreneur Alicja Ryszka is a young photographer who wants to develop her skills. One of her motivations for joining the programme was to find out how business works abroad and to experience different environments. She decided to work with Mercedes because they had a similar goal - to develop new ideas in social media to expand their potential customer base. And Mercedes' business is one of the areas where Alicja wanted to grow.

During their exchange, the entrepreneurs carried out several activities. They focused on social media strategies, analysing competitors' activities, e-commerce, photo shoots, writing content for their social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn), monitoring, tracking, analysing and reporting on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights, and finally conducting audience research.

The benefit of the exchange for the two entrepreneurs was that they learned about different approaches to creating content for social media. They realised that two people with different backgrounds can be a perfect match and share their knowledge from a different perspective. Among other things, Alicja and Mercedes learned what steps to take to run a business successfully, how to gain confidence in attracting new customers, increase their knowledge of social media and marketing software when running a business, connect with local businesses, improve the images on Mercedes' website, reach a higher level of photography skills, improve their marketing strategy and increase local and international sales. The exchange has brought a lot to both entrepreneurs, but especially Alicja has gained more confidence and knowledge about starting her own business.
