Azdren Ymeri is a software engineer and has been working with different programming languages for the last five years. He was interested in expanding his knowledge in the field of commerce and entrepreneurship. That's when he started looking for programmes that would combine his technical skills with the entrepreneurial side. He often thought about starting his own ICT software company and wanted to build connections and partnerships with European and global companies, as the ICT sector in Kosovo has been flourishing in recent years. It was perfect timing when he discovered the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme, an opportunity that fulfilled all the items on his list of goals. In addition to developing his business idea, Azdren was ready to contribute to his host entrepreneur’s company to improve its products and services with his ideas and skills.

Through this programme, Azdren joined Giovanni Panasiti at Montedelgallo, a digital software solutions company based in Rome, Italy. At the time, the company was building fleet management software for vehicle rental companies operating in Italy. Under Giovanni's guidance, Azdren dealt with a wide range of clients, attended a variety of meetings and learned how to organise tasks within the company. All these activities helped Azdren to think carefully about how to improve his business plan and vision for his company. While in Italy, Azdren also learned a lot about the local culture and established new and useful contacts.

The exchange was very beneficial for Azdren. Thanks to the EYE programme, Azdren has a better understanding of how a company is run, how marketing strategies work and how the market works in this industry. He also learned how to negotiate with clients and he also became better at time management when it comes to offering software services to clients. His business plan also improved under the host's guidance. "I definitely recommend the programme to other entrepreneurs who have an initial idea to start a business. It is a great opportunity not to be missed," he concludes.
