New entrepreneur Ufuk Toprak had an IT bachelor degree and a business idea that he wanted to start in the short term. Ufuk wanted to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme to develop his business idea and find new partners. He also expected to grow professionally and become a successful entrepreneur after the programme. His host entrepreneur, William Solano, is involved in different business sectors such as tourism, travel services, and hotels. He has extensive experience and is ready to share it with new partners like Ufuk. He joined the EYE programme to develop new business ideas and upgrade his business with new digital tools. William expected the EYE programme would help his business to grow, with the help of new entrepreneurs’ ideas.
During their exchange, Ufuk and William have checked all details of Ufuk’s business plan and analysed it according to the local market conditions. Both entrepreneurs have collaborated to find applicable social media tools for William’s business and looked into Google digital tools. They have researched the most suitable platform for William’s business and developed a website and different social media accounts. Ufuk has supported his host entrepreneur by performing a research on his competitors and analysing them with William. He has also researched what kind of channels are suitable in the market against the host’s competitors. In addition to this, the entrepreneurs decided to look into data mining tools in order to improve William’s digital marketing strategy, while setting the future goals for their companies.
Thanks to this experience, Ufuk has now more detailed knowledge about the EU market, how to manage a small business and the strategies to use in order to stand out from the competition. He also learned new digital skills and how to interpret data for marketing strategies. William, on the other hand, managed to expand his business in other local points in the country, boosted his marketing strategy and learned the fundamental digital skills and tools to use in order to support his company’s growth.
