Spain’s aspiring and inspiring startup scene

Two countries two ambitious men two Davids one passion in common- Entrepreneurship!
This is the story of David Hahn (Germany) and David Tronchoni (Spain) the two entrepreneurs who recently ended a four-month collaboration that was of great success for both of them!
But how did it all start?
During his studies of Technology and Management at the Technical University in Munich, David Hahn participated in the Business Plan Seminar held by UnternehmerTUM, Center Innovation and Business Creation in TU Munich. Together with his team, he developed an advertising surface which can be used to charge smartphones safely.

After this first entrepreneurial experience, David decided to pursue his business idea and applied for the ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs' programme with UnternehmerTUM, Germany, to be able to develop his business plan further with the help of an experienced business owner.

New in the entrepreneurial world, David needed to get some knowledge on how to start up, lead and develop a company. The programme helped him to get in touch with host entrepreneur, David Tronchoni, CEO and Co-Founder of Edinn Globalhighly innovative business from Valencia, Spain.

The stay in Valencia….

With a focus on Business Administration during his studies, David Hahn wanted to learn more about lean management and optimisation of business processes. He contacted David Tronchoni as Edinn Global was, for him, the perfect company to achieve this goal!

The host company produces efficiency solution to monitor people and machines used also by clients like "Orangina Schweppes", "Trelleborg" and "Metaldyne".

During his stay, new entrepreneur David had the possibility to engage in a wide range of activities such as the introduction of new concepts for the development of the host company abroad, including new concepts for the website, developing marketing, commercial and communication strategies in view of expanding Edinn Global to the German market. One such example is the translation of the communication materials into the German language to introduce the product to the new market.

As Edinn Global is part of the "Valencian Global Growth Program”, a programme for innovative business, David Hahn also had the opportunity to attend several workshops and courses relevant to his business and studies during the event. He notably attended a course held by Bill Aulet (Managing Director of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship & senior lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management) on entrepreneurial product marketing.
On top of the knowledge acquired with his host entrepreneur David Tronchoni and at workshops on successful entrepreneurship,he was also able to expand his network and establish contacts with professionals across Europe- quite helpful for future business cooperation.

Spain and more specifically the city of Valencia was for David a surprisingly aspiring and inspiring startup scene which led him to success. It has also provided him with insights on how to convert his business ideas into a reality and how to avoid the pitfalls of an early stages business, crucial information for his future plans.
David went back to Germany at the end of January 2015. Both entrepreneurs continue to collaborate and new entrepreneur David is now working on new sales channels for Edinn Global on the German market. He is even planning on turning this newfound opportunity into his own business and becoming the German sales channel for other startups from abroad. For the two Davids, the exchange has lead not only to a very productive collaboration but also to a friendship to last for a while.
